Welcome to Villa Vangama. Villa Vangama was completed in late 2023 and is a luxury home accommodating four people. Situated in the Greater Kruger Biosphere, 45 minutes from the Kruger Park and less than 10 minutes from the centre of Hoedspruit town with its range of excellent amenities, Villa Vangama promises to be an excellent choice as a holiday location.
Vangama means sunshine in the Tsonga language, and this home which is north-west facing, enjoys striking views of the Drakensberg Mountains. The home is oriented to maximise the amount of natural daylight whilst ensuring sufficient shade to offer comfort in the warmer Hoedspruit weather. Villa Vangama is fully equipped with WIFI, and with air conditioning and ceiling fans in each room. Solar panels and inverter battery storage ensure that power remains available in order to keep you connected at all times so that you can enjoy your holiday with complete peace of mind.
The large master bedroom is open plan to the en suite with bath, shower, twin basins and separate WC. The double sliding doors in the bedroom provide a view of the garden and direct access to the patio area, whilst the folding window at the bath will allow you to bathe whilst enjoying uninterrupted views of the outdoors and the sounds of the bush.
The second bedroom which offers lovely views to the mountains and direct access to the patio, is conveniently located adjacent to the shower room. The study, which also boasts views of the dramatic mountains, accommodates two people with ease, and provides a large and comfortable desk area – ideal for working from home.
Both bedrooms and study also feature ventilation screens, allowing the sliding doors to be secured whilst permitting a flow of air into the rooms. The fully equipped kitchen and separate scullery has everything needed to enable you to enjoy your holiday, including a washing machine, gas hob, electric fan oven, microwave, fridge with water cooler, freezer and coffee-making facilities. Quality cookware, crockery and glassware are all available for use by guests.
The welcoming living area flows seamlessly to the tasteful outdoor area, where folding doors can enclose the patio area in the event of inclement weather. The covered patio accommodates the dining table and a further seating area. The patio area is a wonderful place from which to enjoy the bush and surrounding countryside, from the colours of the sunrise reflected on the Drakensberg Mountains, to the spectacular African sunsets.
Externally, a gas-powered braai is available for use, as are two boma areas, one adjacent to the patio and one located in the shade of the garden under the majestic knobthorn tree. Wood is provided for guests wishing to use the bomas.
Enjoying time in and around the heated swimming pool is a pleasure, thanks to the additional shade afforded by the pergola, and the integral seating along two of the sides of the pool. The four sun loungers which are fully adjustable, can be positioned on the large patio area as desired.
To the front of the villa, there is adequate parking for up to four cars, including space for two cars under the car port. Seen frequently around Villa Vangama is an abundance of bird and animal life. Guests will be able to watch animals such as warthog, duiker, nyala, impala and dwarf and banded mongoose as they pass through the garden. Even the occasional leopard and giraffe have been observed nearby. At night, listen for the calls of the hyenas, and if fortunate, you may even hear the roars of lion from the neighbouring reserve.
The garden is also home to a wide variety of birds. From the comfort of the patio, watch iridescent sunbirds, enjoy the sight of swallows swooping low over the pool, spot the colourful woodland kingfisher and listen to the morning chorus as the bush comes to life. Villa Drakensig is a luxury holiday home for up to 4 guests. It is not without reason that this villa is called Drakensig. The house has a spectacular unobstructed view of the Little Drakensberg mountains and the sunset can be seen from the terrace.
The interior is attractive and modern African and the house is practical in design. The two master bedrooms have double beds, an ensuite bathroom with double wash basins and an outdoor showers. The living room with a lovely comfortable corner sofa is adjacent to the sunny terrace. The harmonica sliding doors can be slid away completely so that the outside and inside form a whole.
The heated swimming pool with a cozy seating area is a wonderful place for a refreshing drink. The boma, adjacent to the terrace, guarantees wonderful evenings under the clear African starry sky. A braai should not be missing in this very comfortable holiday home with a magnificent view.
All accommodations of Homes of Africa are located on Zandspruit Bush & Aero Estate (Hoedspruit, Limpopo), an area of 1000 hectares of pristine and beautiful South African bush where only guests and residents of Zandspruit Estate have free access.
